Medical Marijuana has been approved in the District of Columbia.  Physicians who choose to provide patients with a Department of Health Medical Marijuana License will evaluate the patient's medical condition and discuss with the patient whether this is is an option for the treatment of the patient's qualifying condition.

As with any medication for a chronic conditions, there may be side-effects and the medication may not prove to be as effective as anticipated.  Therefore, it is expected that the patient will schedule three visits annually for on-going evaluation of the condition, effectiveness of the medication, and side-effects if any.
